Why NACA Was Created
Crime analysis has become one of the most important functions in modern public safety. Analysts support investigations, identify crime patterns, evaluate strategies, inform leadership decisions, and help agencies allocate resources effectively.
Yet despite the growing demand for analytical expertise, many analysts continue to face common challenges:
• Unclear career pathways
• Inconsistent standards across agencies
• Limited advocacy for the profession
• Difficulty demonstrating the value of analysis to decision-makers
• Lack of resources for agencies building or expanding analytical programs
NACA was created to address these challenges by providing a national home for crime analysts and the organizations they serve.
How NACA is Different
NACA was built to be more than a place to attend an annual conference or access occasional training.
